Part III: Building a Better Pirate

Dave Burgess wraps this journey up with a nice bow by adding his philosophy of education. It is very inspiring and empowering. He reminds us that being in education is hard; we don’t get to see the results of our work until years down the road. Our work can’t be based on numbers from a test. You can’t walk into a teacher’s classroom and rate their ability on the last couple minutes of a lesson. We have to have the courage to be great for our students no matter what “they” say and know that we are preparing our future to be great.
